"Artists are visionaries. We routinely practice a form of faith, seeing clearly and moving toward a creative goal that shimmers in the distance - often visible to us, but invisible to those around us."
When I was a young girl, I would often take control over my parents camera during birthday parties and holidays. I fell in love with the joy that came from capturing a moment that could last a lifetime. Love turned into passion when freezing time with a photo became easier thanks to advancements in technology. From taking the picture, to the editing in post-production, and finally to developing a print or web-based product, the process is just as Julia Cameron describes it; “…moving toward a creative goal that shimmers in the distance…”.
For the past eight years I gained valuable experience while working at a small company that produced educational materials. I found myself in a unique position that called me to take on different roles, all of which have contributed to my growth as an artist and as a person. These roles included production artist, photographer, graphic designer, marketing contributor, team member, manager, social media coordinator, asset organizer, website designer, and problem solver. At times I would find myself faced with a task in which I did not have the knowledge to complete at first. I always gave it my best effort and sought to learn, whether from someone else or self-taught. I enjoyed what I did each day, but there was always a yearning to learn more and expand my horizons. This yearning along with the desire to be close to immediate family, led to my decision to leave the Texas hill country and settle in North Texas. I am excited for this new adventure in my professional journey. I hope to find a position that allows me to share my passion for creativity, learn from others, and gain inspiration for future growth.
